These celestial objects rise in the east and set in the west as Earth spins once every 24 hours. The Sun’s path shifts throughout the year due to the planet’s axial tilt, which also changes the positions of sunrise and sunset. At the equinoxes, the Sun rises due east and sets due west. During solstices, it reaches its northernmost or southernmost points.
