From February 23 to March 1, there's a celestial showcase featuring Canopus, Arcturus, and Sirius B. On February 23, look south for Canopus when Murzim is highest. Arcturus rises in the east-northeast around 8 or 9 p.m. on February 24. Attempt to spot Sirius B, a faint white dwarf near Sirius, on February 25 using a telescope. Deep-sky objects are visible during the dark Moon on February 26. By February 28, a crescent Moon joins Venus and Mercury in the sky. On March 1, the constellation Leo rises in the east.
