The Night Sky for the Week of 10-11-26

From October 9–18, the night sky offers excellent stargazing opportunities. Early evenings feature bright Arcturus in the west-northwest and Capella in the northeast, with Fomalhaut at a similar altitude in mid-northern latitudes. The Great Square of Pegasus and Andromeda dominate the eastern sky, while Cassiopeia offers binocular-friendly clusters. Morning skies highlight Mars in Cancer, rising before dawn above brilliant Jupiter and near the Beehive Cluster. The Moon progresses from new to first quarter, passing Antares, the Sagittarius Teapot, and moving into the southern sky. Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are visible, with Saturn favorably positioned for telescopic observation. https://skyandtelescope.org/astronomy-news/observing-news/this-weeks-sky-at-a-glance-october-9-18/
